  • What age groups do you serve?

    • We provide literacy programs for children aged 7-18.

  • Do you have to be Afghan or a refugee to take the class?

    • No, all are welcome!​

  • How are children placed in classes?

    • We encourage all children to start at Level 1 and progress through the curriculum.  Note all ages will be in Level 1 unless there is reason to separate children based on age groups.​

  • What subjects are covered in the program?

    • Our focus is on reading, writing, and cultural education.

  • How often are classes held?

    • Classes are held 2 times per week, typically after school, for a period of 6 weeks.  Classes are 1.5 hours long.

  • Is the program free or is there a cost?

    • We ask for a donation to cover the cost of the educator and materials of the class.​

  • Do children need prior literacy skills to join?

    • No prior literacy skills are required; we offer support at all levels.

  • How do I enroll my child?

    • You can enroll your child by clicking the "Book" tab above.

  • What languages are used in instruction?

    • Instruction is provided in Dari or Pashto to support both language development and literacy.

  • Are there opportunities for parents to get involved?

    • Yes, we encourage parent involvement through workshops and practicing with children at home.

  • What is the class size?

    • Each class has a maximum of 20 students to ensure personalized attention.

  • How does the program support cultural integration?

    • We incorporate Afghan culture and traditions in our curriculum to foster a sense of identity and pride.​

  • How can I support the program?

    • You can support through donations, practicing with your child, and spreading the word.
